Ohio State University alumnae Minttu Tuominen has been selected to represent her native Finland at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea next month.
The No. 2 Ohio State University wrestling team (12-0, 7-0 Big Ten) concluded the ‘home’ portion of its regular season by hosting No. 24 Purdue (6-6, 0-5) at Graham High School in St. Paris, Ohio. The Buckeyes seized eight of 10 bouts and brought a 35-7 victory back with them to Columbus.
The No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes continue their early season dominance as they cruise past the Toledo Rockets. The Scarlet and Gray advance to 5-0 in dual match play, while Toledo drops to 1-3. The Buckeyes have not yet given up a point, going 24-0 in points.
The Ohio State University pistol team set an all-time program record during a home match vs. Akron and Purdue, posting a 6,491 3-gun aggregate score in the Open competition. The new marks bests the previous high by 24 points (6,467 posted on Feb. 1, 2014).
The Ohio State women’s basketball team had been reeling for the last week and a half but in the fourth quarter on Saturday at Value City Arena, Michigan State found itself on the receiving end of a three-game stress relief. Kelsey Mitchell finished with a game-high 23 points and also had four rebounds, three assists and two steals. She now has 3,098 career points which is seventh all-time in NCAA history.
The No. 3 Ohio State University men’s volleyball team (5-2) made it a short Sunday stint on the court, storming past eighth-ranked Penn State (3-2) by controlling scores of 25-19, 25-15, 25-17. The +24 point differential moved the Buckeyes to 5-2 on the season.
