COLUMBUS, Ohio – For the third consecutive week, a Buckeye received a weekly Big Ten baseball honor as outfielder Zach Hurley earned his first career Player of the Week honor, the conference announced Monday.

The senior co-captain batted .571 (12-for-21) with five doubles, a triple, a home run seven runs batted in and six runs scored as the Buckeyes went 3-1 in the Snowbird “Buckeye” Classic in Port Charlotte, Fla. Hurley was a perfect 5-for-5 with two doubles, three runs scored and two RBI in a 15-8 Sunday win over Fairleigh Dickinson.

The Springboro, Ohio native joins pitcher Alex Wimmers and outfielder Michael Stephens as Buckeyes who have received weekly Big Ten honors in the first three weeks of the season.

The Buckeyes (8-2) will travel to Knoxville, Tenn. this weekend to take on Marshall, Tennessee and Connecticut.
