PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – For the second straight day, Will Grimmer dropped in six birdies and completed a sub-70 round. The Buckeye sophomore shot 5-under during the 54-hole event, earning a share of 14th place overall.
Grimmer moved up nine slots on the final day, placing higher than four Golfstat Top-100 players. His 13 total birdies over the weekend ranked ninth in the field.
Freshmen Caden Orewiler and Jeg Coughlin III were Ohio State’s next best performers, coming in at even par and 1-over, respectively. Orewiler rattled off scores of 69-72-75 while Coughlin III posted rounds of 74-67-76. His second round 67 was the OSU low for the tournament. Fellow first-year Buckeye, Daniel Wetterich, was next up for the Scarlet & Gray. He played better each subsequent day, saving the best for last with a four-birdie, two-under 70 on Sunday (Sept. 4).
Josh Wick was a two-time contributor to the team tally, putting forth 72-74 during the first two rounds before wrapping it up with a Sunday 78. Addison Coll followed Wetterich’s plan and posted his best score on the final day. Coll went out shooting a 1-under 71 after back-to-back 77’s to open the competition.
