COLUMBUS, Ohio – Greg Dutton, a freshman goalie on the Ohio State men’s lacrosse team, has been named the ECAC Lacrosse League Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday. It is the third weekly league honor for Dutton, a native of Timonium, Md., and a Calvert Hall product, this season.

Dutton had a career-best 14 saves and allowed just three goals in the Buckeyes’ win versus Hobart Saturday in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. He added three groundballs and a caused turnover and helped the Buckeyes clear at 82 percent for the game (22-of-27), including just one failed clear in the first three quarters combined (16/17, 94%). Dutton had 11 saves in the second half (seven stops in the fourth quarter) and stopped three of the seven total Hobart shot attempts in the opening half, allowing just one first-half goal. He played the first 56:36 to pick up the win.

Dutton has started 10 games for Ohio State this season and is second in the ECAC and 20th nationally with an 8.16 goals-against average. He is fourth in the league with a .537 save percentage. Dutton was first named the league’s rookie of the week Feb. 21 after making eight saves in the Buckeyes’ upset of North Carolina Feb. 19 and was honored March 28 after 12 saves at No. 3 Notre Dame.

The Buckeyes (6-5) will play two ECAC games in Colorado this weekend. Saturday the squad will take on No. 6/7 Denver in the eighth annual Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Showdown at 3 p.m. MT at INVESCO Field at Mile-High.
