COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State finished the second round 10-over par to move to 15-over and remain in 15th place at the Nike Collegiate Invitational. Sophomore Grant Engle put together two good days of scoring, shooting a one-under 142 through two rounds to put him in contention with a number of the top players in the nation.
Engle played a clean first nine, collecting eight pars and one birdie to make the turn one-under. The sophomore traded a birdie and bogey on holes one and two before comfortably navigating the last seven holes, sinking six pars and a birdie to finish the day two-under and tied for 26th.
Freshman Jackson Chandler had a rollercoaster day, getting as low as two-under two different times but ending up with a three-over 74. He holed the first eagle of his young career on hole 18 and added three more birdies on the back nine to finish the side two-under. Jackson rolled in one more birdie and four pars on the front nine losing a few shots along the way to shoot 74 and take a share of 49th.
Felix Kvarnstrom shot 76, Patrick Schmucking, 75, and Kevin Stone ,78, to round out the scoring for the Buckeyes.
