Steve Miller, associate head coach for the Ohio State men’s hockey team, is returning to Columbus with a IIHF World Junior Championship gold medal. Miller and Team USA defeated Canada, 2-0, in the WJC gold medal game Tuesday evening at Rogers Place in Edmonton. This is the fifth consecutive year Miller has been part of the Team USA staff at the World Junior Championship.
Miller has four medals in five stints behind the Team USA bench. He was also part of the gold medal winning team in 2017, won a bronze in 2018 and captured silver in 2019.
This year, the U.S. squad lost to Russia in its first round robin game before wins over Austria, the Czech Republic and Sweden. Team USA then prevailed over Slovakia in the quarterfinals and Finland in the semifinals before defeating Canada.
