Getting to Know the Eight Women’s Soccer Newcomers

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s soccer team welcomed a talented group of eight newcomers when the Buckeyes opened training last week in Columbus. Take a closer look at the Buckeye rookies for Lori Walker-Hock’s 24th season as Ohio State head coach.

Christin Baumbick – Midfielder – Avon Lake, Ohio
Magnificat H.S.; Ohio Premier
Played freshman and junior seasons for Magnificat High School … named team MVP as a junior after tallying 22 goals and eight assists … has 13 years of club experience, including the last two for Ohio Premier … ECNL Top Scorers … member of three U.S. National id2 training camps … daughter of Bob and Debbie Baumbick … has four older siblings: Jessica, Kimberly, Nate and Alyssa … Alyssa is a senior on the Ohio State women’s soccer team.

Lauren Brown – Midfielder – Pewaukee, Wis.
Catholic Memorial H.S.; SC Wave
Three-year letterwinner at Catholic Memorial High School … two-time WIAA First Team All-State … three-time first team all-conference … led team in goals and assists three seasons … 2019 finalist for Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Player of the Year … nine years of club experience with SC Wave … 2019 team captain … daughter of Larry and Regina Brown … has two older brothers: Eric and Nathan.

Chloe Delyser – Forward – Marion, N.Y.
Marion H.S.; Western New York Flash Academy
Tallied 327 career goals and 149 assists at Marion High School … New York state career and single-season goals record holder … six-time Wayne County Player of the Year and Wayne County All-Star … 2018 New York Gatorade Player of the Year, Allstate All-American and All-Greater Rochester Player of the Year … member of Western New York Flash ECNL … daughter of Heather Delyser-Marotta and Robert Marotta … has three siblings: Abigail, Peyton and Jacob.

Kine Flotre – Midfielder – Fjellhamar, Norway
Loerenskog Videregaaende; Vaalerenga
Competed for Vaalerenga for four seasons … most assists for club in 2017 and 2018 while earning gold in Norwegian Cup … earned silver medal in Gothia and Norwegian Cups in 2019 … daughter of Jon-Are and Anne-Bente Flotre … has two sisters, Maria and Julie, and a brother, Kevin Myhrer Lie.

Nina LeFlore – Defender – Minneapolis, Minn.
Shattuck St. Mary’s H.S.; Shattuck St. Mary’s
Three-year starter at Shattuck-St. Mary’s … scored nine goals in 25 games in 2017-18 … scored twice in 17 games in 2018-19 … daughter of Damon LeFlore and Stephani Martinsen … has two brothers, Solomon and Isaiah.

Peyton McNamara – Midfielder – Norwalk, Conn.

Jasmine Vilgrain – Midfielder – Toronto, Ontario

Has 12 years of club experience, including the last year with Dero United … 2019 League 1 Ontario All-Star Second team and Rookie of the Year runner-up … U-17 Canadian National Team camp in 2018 … point guard on the Bill Crothers basketball team … daughter of Alex Vilgrain and Anna Lerus … has a younger sister, Rachel.
