Getting to Know: Nicole Flower

COLUMBUS, Ohio – So far in her redshirt freshman season, Nicole Flower has compiled a 10-8 singles record and a 6-7 doubles record. The Upper Arlington, Ohio, native notched her first collegiate victory in singles against BGSU’s Katie Brozovich at the Muirfield Collegiate Tennis Invitational Sept. 14. She also qualified for a spot in the singles competition of the USTA/ITA Midwest Regional Main Draw.

In the spring, Flower has totaled three wins in straight sets at the No. 6 position over West Virginia, Cincinnati and Eastern Kentucky. Paired with Fidan Manashirova, the Buckeye tandem defeated Eastern Kentucky’s Melissa Gerritsen and Saioa Oscoz, 8-3, in the No. 1 position to preserve the Buckeye’s third-consecutive shutout of the season.
