Getting to Know: Grainne O’Neill

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Freshman Grainne O’Neill made her collegiate debut in consolation matches at the USTA/ITA Midwest Regional and claimed her first collegiate victory against Tennessee’s Kayla McMurry in three sets, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 at the Lady Vols Classic Oct. 27.

In the spring season, the Blessington, Ireland, product has collected four straight singles wins, highlighted by a super tiebreaker victory over Nebraska’s Maggy Lehmicke, 7-5, 6-7 (4), 1-0 (9). Paired with senior Gabby Steele and junior Noelle Malley, O’Neill has not dropped a doubles match through four dual matches during the spring slate.
