COLUMBUS, Ohio – Riley Brengman, a defender from China Township, Michigan, has joined the Ohio State women’s ice hockey program and will continue her athletic and academic career with the Buckeyes.
Brengman played for three years for the Little Caesars Hockey Club before spending the 2019-20 season with Belle Tire. In 2017 and 2018, Brengman was a starter for Little Caesars and helped the squad win a state championship. In 2019, she was given the role of team captain. In her lone season with Belle Tire, she was named an assistant captain as the team won a state championship.
Off the ice, Brengman was involved in a variety of community service initiatives throughout Detroit while also excelling in the classroom. She was a member of the Regina High School honor roll and graduated cum laude.
An exploration major, Brengman was part of the Summer Bridge Program and said what she’s most excited about in the opportunity to pursue two things she loves: sports and academics.
“The most exciting thing that I’m looking forward to is meeting new people and receiving a great education while also playing the sport I love, ice hockey. I am extremely excited for the next four years,” said Brengman.
