COLUMBUS, Ohio – Claudia Thomas is set to be a Buckeye.
The Louisville, Ky. native will don the Scarlet and Gray for the first time this fall, and if her high school career is any indication, Buckeye fans can expect big things.
Thomas was Ms. Field Hockey in the state of Kentucky and a Top 10-ranked player nationally by Max Field Hockey. But those individual accomplishments are just part of the story – Thomas also was a winner. She helped Christian Academy of Louisville win a state championship as a freshman in 2017 and finish runner-up in 2019.
On the international stage, Thomas has played for the United States U17 National Team, USA Rise National Team and the 2019 Germany Tour. Just last month, she competed in the Young Women’s National Championship at the Virginia Beach Regional Training Center.
Great athletes run in the Thomas family. Claudia’s sister, Claire, is a rising senior of the field hockey team at Temple. Together, the pair won a state title at Christian Academy of Louisville in 2017. Their father, Lee, is a two-time Ironman and was an All-World Athlete in 2016-17.
The first NLI of the day is in and it's from Claudia Thomas.
