COLUMBUS, Ohio Nikki Trzaska, a forward/midfielder from Yardley, Pa., has signed a national letter of intent to further her academic and athletic career as a member of the Ohio State field hockey program, head coach Jarred Martin announced.

Trzaska was the leading scorer during her junior and senior seasons for head coach Ken Fetterolf at Villa Joseph Marie and culminated her career this past fall by being named a first team all-state honoree by the Pennsylvania Field Hockey Coaches Association. Twice she was her team’s Most Valuable Player and three times a Catholic Academics League all-star. Her goal on a penalty corner with no time remaining in regulation lifted Villa Joseph Marie to its first-ever postseason win. Trzaska was also a captain on Villa Joseph Marie’s lacrosse team.

On the club level, Trzaska competed for the Mystx and head coach Tina Reinprecht. She was a member of the 2016 National Indoor Tournament champions. Her 2015 team was also the Festival Pool F champions.

Why Did You Choose Ohio State: “As soon as I stepped onto the campus, I knew Ohio State was where I belonged. I did not think that a big school suited me until after my first visit; then, I could not see myself anywhere else except Ohio State. After being introduced to a few girls on the team, I immediately felt at home. The positivity and enthusiasm that each coach portrays also greatly impacted my decision. I cannot wait to finally be on campus and officially be a part of the team.”
