Feb. 14, 2018

Columbus, Ohio – Jessica Hourihane has signed a national letter of intent to further her academic and athletic career as a member of the Ohio State field hockey program, head coach Jarred Martin announced.

Hourihane comes to Columbus as a verified winner helping her high school squad to four straight conference titles. Playing as an attacker and midfielder in high school, Hourihane served as team captain during her senior year at North Shore Country Day High School that saw her lead her team to a runner-up finish at the 2017 Illinois High School Field Hockey State Championships. A two-time all-state and all-region performer, Hourihane has played under Alyssa Dudzik for four years at North Shore Country Day. On the club circuit, she played the last six years with the Windy City Field Hockey club under Katie Beach and former Buckeye, Dawn Pederson.

“Jessica is coming to Ohio State from a strong high school program in Chicago and one of the best club teams in the country with Windy City,” second year head coach Jarred Martin said. “I am excited to have Jess join the program this fall where she will add some strength and speed to our forward line.

“She has a great work rate and determination on the field that I am looking forward to seeing her build on over her four years.”
