Gens, Melus Results of 2018 ISSF World Championships


CHANGWON, Korea – Sophomores Samuel Gens and Bernard Melus recently competed in the ISSF World Championships (Aug. 31- Sept. 15). Both sophomores represented the United States by competing in the 50M Free Pistol Men Junior individual competition (Sept. 2).

The sophomore had an outstanding performance, placing 26th overall, shooting 526 within six series.

Melus also had an impressive outing, placing 30th overall, shooting 502 within six series.

Both athletes were accompanied by their assistant coach, Anthony Lutz, aiding the Buckeyes during the World Championships.


Melus and Gens along with the rest of the 2018-2019 Buckeye Pistol Team open up their season on Friday, September 28th versus Coast Guard.
