COLUMBUS, Ohio – Following a five-point weekend against Bemidji State, Jenn Gardiner has been named the WCHA Forward of the Week. The award, announced Monday by the conference, is the first of her career.
Gardiner scored back-to-back goals against the Beavers last weekend, helping Ohio State to a 7-0 win in the first game of the series. She recorded both goals of the second period and scored them just two minutes apart. The Surrey, B.C. native also added an assist on the final goal of the night.
In Saturday’s game, Gardiner added two more points with an assist on the first and third Buckeye goals. The junior finished +4 on the weekend and recorded a team-high five points in the series.
Gardiner leads the Buckeyes with seven helpers on the year and is tied for fifth nationally with 1.17 assists per game. She is tied for first on the team with 11 points and ranks seventh nationally in points per game with 1.83.
