COLUMBUS, Ohio – Fans will have two opportunities to get a preview of the 2020 Ohio State men’s lacrosse season as the Buckeyes host a pair of scrimmages before the regular season begins on Feb 4. The Buckeyes host Marquette at noon on Saturday, Jan. 18, and Lafayette on Saturday, Jan. 25, also at noon.
Both of the Buckeyes’ scrimmages will take place inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center and both are free admission. Additionally, both include significant Ohio State ties: Marquette and Lafayette are both coached by former Buckeyes. Marquette is under the direction of Andrew Stimmel, a captain for the Scarlet and Gray in 2010, while Lafayette is coached by Pat Myers, a four-year letterwinner for Ohio State (2000-03). Myers is also the brother of Ohio State head coach Nick Myers.
In addition to their playing careers in Columbus, both Stimmel and Myers were assistant coaches during parts of their careers for the Buckeyes. Myers was the team’s volunteer assistant coach in 2004 while Stimmel also got his start in coaching with Ohio State in 2011.
