COLUMBUS, Ohio – Four members of the Ohio State men’s lacrosse team were named to the 2010 ECAC All-Academic Team, the conference announced Thursday. Juniors Paul Beery, Jarred Bowman and Scott Lathrop and sophomore Eddie Bambino were each honored for Ohio State in the Buckeyes’ inaugural season in the conference. In all, 31 conference players were named to the academic team.

Bowman, who majors in exercise science and is from Cincinnati, Ohio, scored three goals and added four assists in 15 matches while Beery, a business-accounting major from Hilliard, Ohio, posted three goals and three assists in 14 matches, starting five. Spanish major Bambino, a Yardley, Pa., native, scored three goals in 12 appearances while Lathrop, from Columbus, Ohio, and a business-marketing major, played in 15 matches. All four were Ohio State Scholar-Athletes and named to the Academic All-Big Ten team this year.  

In order to be selected to the team, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA through at least four semesters of work at his current institution, be a significant contributor to his team and have participated in at least 50 percent of the games.
