COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State graduates Becky Jasontek (Loveland, Oh.) and Emily Marsh (Spring Valley, Calif.) will give Team USA a new look. National Team Head Coach Chris Carver announced the pair will represent the United States in the duet event at the 1999 Pan American Games.

Jastonek and Marsh competed together from 1994-1997 for the Buckeyes. The two were part of the four-time collegiate national championship team and also paired up for three duet national titles in 95, 96 and 97.

The veteran competitors were declared the pair as the Pan Am duet based on the duos performances at the 1999 U.S. Olympic Team Trials and the 1999 Jantzen National Championships.

Jasontek and Marsh finished fourth at both the Jantzen Nationals in April and the Olympic Trials in early June. The pair swam on the 1998 Goodwill Games Team which won the silver medal. They have never represented the United States in international competition as a duet. Together, they have nearly 35 years of synchro experience and a combined 20 U.S. National Team appointments.

Jasontek, who began her career with the Cincinnati Synchrogators, finished seventh in the individual portion of the Olympic Team Trials. Marsh, a former member of the San Diego Co. Sweetwater Dolphins, took ninth.

The Pan Am games will be held Aug. 4-8 in Winnipeg, Canada.
