Columbus, Ohio – Rob Myers, a former All-American for the Ohio State men’s track and field team, ran for the United States in the 2005 International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) World Championships in the 1,500-meter run this week in Helsinki, Finland.

Myers, from Rushville, Ohio, gained a spot in the semifinals by advancing through the qualifying heats Saturday with a time of 3:40.16. Running in Lane 3 on Monday, he missed out on a chance at the finals, placing 10th his heat at 3:42.38.

The 2005 IAAF World Championships started Saturday and continues until August 14. Fellow former Ohio State standout Joel Brown also is competing for Team USA. His first race in the 110-meter hurdles is scheduled for Wednesday.

PAX television will provide condensed coverage of the 2005 IAAF World Track and Field Championships. The network will broadcast from 5-6 p.m. Monday through Friday of this week and change its time slot to 4-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
