Former Buckeye Rachel Rohanna Qualifies for U.S. Women’s Open

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Former Buckeye Rachel Rohanna qualified for the 2019 U.S. Women’s Open Monday, winning a sectional qualfier at Chartiers Country Club in Pittsburgh, Pa. A native of Waynesburg, Pa., Rohanna carded a 1-over 141, including a 2-under 68 in the afternoon session, at the 36-hole qualifier to win by four strokes.

Rohanna, who also competed in the U.S. Women’s Open in 2011 and 2013, will tee it up in this year’s tournament May 30 through June 2 at the Country Club of Charleston in Charleston, S.C.

Rohanna, a letterwinner for the Buckeyes from 2010-12, was named NCAA All-Central Region in 2011 and 2012, first team All-Big Ten in 2010 and 2012 and second team All-Big Ten in 2011. In her final season in 2011-12, Rohanna posted the lowest stroke average on the team at 74.34 through 38 rounds, tallying seven rounds under par and two in the 60’s.
