Columbus, Ohio – Joel Brown, a former All-American hurdler at Ohio State, represented the United States in the qualifying heats of the men’s 110-meter hurdles Wednesday at the 2005 International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) World Championships in Helsinki, Finland. Brown advanced to the semifinals set for Thursday by placing third in his heat with a time of 13.90 seconds.
Brown, the Ohio State record holder in the 110m hurdles, was one of four hurdlers for Team USA to advance Wednesday. Allen Johnson turned in the top U.S. time at 13.80, while Terrence Trammell timed a 13.92 and Arnold Dominique paced a 13.96. Johnson and Trammell represented the U.S. at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece last August.
PAX television will provide condensed coverage of the 2005 IAAF World Track and Field Championships.
