OHIO STATE FOOTBALL 2023 STUDENT TICKET INFORMATION

New for 2023:

UPDATED Student football ticket REQUEST process

Based on feedback from students, the Department of Athletics has made the following adjustments to the student football ticket process:

  1. Students will receive a MULTI-DAY window to request the ticket package they are interested in purchasing – removing the need to log on immediately when their ordering window opens!
  2. Once all ticket requests have been received, ticket packages will be allocated and fulfilled based upon demand within each rank – more equitably distributing ticket inventory.
  3. Students will now receive bonus points for purchasing student ticket packages in consecutive years, which will apply towards their regular season and post-season ticket requests – increasing the chance of receiving their preferred ticket package
  4. Newly created Graduate/Professional Student Seating Option – a designated seating area in the north end for fans looking for a different gameday experience/atmosphere.

Ticket Request Period

An e-mail will be sent mid-May to any student who is enrolled at Ohio State for Spring or Summer Semester and to any incoming student who has paid the university acceptance fee by early May. The e-mail will include basic information regarding the upcoming student ticket request process for the 2023 Ohio State Football Season. This email will be sent to your name.#@buckeyemail.osu.edu email address, or to the email address on record in the OSU Ticket Office. (The Athletics Ticket Office cannot guarantee the delivery of this email for students who do not use and/or check their OSU email address frequently or who forward their email to a web-based email provider.)

Important information regarding the student ticket request process can be found below.

The Athletic Council and Department of Athletics believe it is important that discounted tickets be used by the original purchaser or by someone within the same category, and, in principle, access to athletic event tickets at a discounted price is a privilege extended to members of the university community. This privilege does not entitle anyone to abuse the ticket policy by scalping or misusing tickets they purchase.

Please note: You may lose your ticket privileges if (a) you have engaged in conduct that is determined, by either OSU or the NCAA, to be in violation of any NCAA rule or if, in OSU’s reasonable discretion, you have otherwise taken any action that jeopardizes the eligibility of OSU’s programs or its student-athletes; or (b) you have transferred your ticket(s) in such a way that has proven to be detrimental to the ticket recipient(s) and/or Ohio State.

  • Week of May 15: Eligible students receive email communication from the Athletics Ticket Office
  • May 22- June 2: Ticket Request Period Open
    • Each eligible student will receive an email with the time their specific ticket request window opens.
    • Students may log in to request their ticket package at ANY time after their window opens, as long as the request is received by June 2 at 4pm ET.
  • June 30: Student ticket package requests confirmed via email to those receiving a ticket package.
    • Students’ credit cards will be charged for the ticket package they are receiving at that time.
    • If inventory remains, guest ticket packages will be made available for purchase.
  • Early July: Sit with a Friend process begins.
  • End of July: Sit with a Friend process ends.
  • First week of classes: Mobile tickets available for students to manage.
  • Each student may request one home game student ticket package, or two if married. Requesting a student ticket package does not guarantee that you will receive that package – please see more info below.  To be eligible for two tickets as a married student, students must be married at the time mobile tickets are released.
  • If you intend to request tickets as a married student and have never ordered tickets as married student previously, please contact the Athletics Ticket Office via email to tix@osu.edubefore May 22, 2023 to have your account updated. Please include your osu name.# as well as a copy of your marriage certificate in the email for verification.

      • Cost: $152 (includes $8 non-refundable fees)
  • Away games will also be made available during a separate away game ticket request period for students.
  • The student ticket package request period will be conducted using separate request windows, determined by class rank AND whether a student ordered a student ticket package for the 2022 season. Ticket request windows have been assigned based on the student rank as of the end of the 2023 Spring Semester.
  • While ticket request windows will be opening at different times, all students will have until 4 p.m. on Friday, June 2 to submit their ticket request, eliminating the need to log on immediately when their ordering window opens. Request window assignments have no effect on priority in the overall student football ticket request process.
  • Ticket request windows will begin the week of May 22 and conclude on June 2.
  • Ticket Package Request Period: When the request window opens, each student will enter a request for the ticket package they would like to receive and enter a credit card for payment.  The credit card will not be charged at the time of request.  Students no longer need to log on immediately after their ticket window opens as ticket packages will be assigned later in the process and NOT in a first-come, first-served manner.
  • Ticket Package Distribution: Once all ticket package requests are received, the inventory for each package (reserved full season, reserved B1G, Block O South, Block O North) will be distributed across ranks, based upon the quantity of requests for each package and the ranks that comprise those requests.
    • For example, if Rank 4s comprise 23% of all requests for Block O South tickets, then that percentage of Block O South inventory will be allocated to Rank 4 students.
Important Note – requesting a ticket package does not guarantee that you will receive that ticket package. Students will also be asked to identify their 2nd/3rd choice options during their ticket request period, should their original request not be fulfilled.
  • Please see below for more details on priority and bonus points.
    • Ticket Package Assignments/Sit with Friends: Once ticket packages are assigned, students’ credit cards will be charged for the ticket package(s) they have been assigned and students will be notified of their assignment via email.  Those receiving reserved season ticket packages will then be able to complete the Sit-With-a-Friend process to identify the person/group they’d like to sit with.
  • Important Note – receiving an email with ticket request instructions does NOT mean that you are eligible to request your season tickets. Eligibility to access your season ticket package is based upon your Autumn 2023 enrollment status.  Please see the information below for more details.
  • Students must be enrolled as a full-time student at Ohio State (enrollment at other universities does not count towards full time status) for the autumn semester with all fees and tuition paid (or first payment made, if enrolled in TOPP program) to be eligible to access their mobile student season tickets. If your program is not listed below (i.e., GAA, GRA, GTA), full time status varies depending on the program/appointment with the University. Please see your program coordinator/academic advisor for more information regarding your specific program.
  • The definition of a full-time student is:
    • Undergraduate: 12 hours or more
    • Master, Doctoral Candidate and Graduate Professional: 8 hours or more
    • Post Doctoral (Post Candidacy): 3 hours
  • Students who are graduating at the end of the autumn semester and do not meet the full-time student status requirement may still receive a season ticket by having their respective college advisor fill out an online form stipulating that the reason this student is not full time is that they will be graduating at the end of the autumn semester.
  • Many programs at Ohio State include an internship as part of their curriculum. If you are doing an internship during the autumn semester you still have to be registered as a full-time student to be eligible for student football tickets. If you have any questions regarding your specific internship, please contact your college advisor.
  • Students who are eligible to request but are deemed ineligible to receive student tickets in fall based upon the guidelines listed above will have their access to mobile tickets denied and will receive a refund for their ticket price.
  • Ranks used for designating request windows, for distributing ticket packages, and for reserved seat assignments are determined by the number of credit hours earned through Ohio State for undergraduate and graduate students, or terms completed for professional students.
  • Undergraduate/Graduate Students:
    • Rank 1: 0-30 credit hours of coursework earned through OSU as of the end of Spring Semester 2023
    • Rank 2: 31-60 credit hours of coursework earned through OSU as of the end of Spring Semester 2023
    • Rank 3: 61-90 credit hours of coursework earned through OSU as of the end of Spring Semester 2023
    • Rank 4: 91 credit hours or more of coursework earned through OSU as of the end of Spring Semester 2023
  • Professional Students:
    • Professional student class rankings are determined by each individual college and are reflected as what was reported to the university as of the end of the Spring Semester 2023. If you have questions, please contact your college.
  • Additionally, graduate and professional students will maintain the highest rank attained as an undergraduate student if that undergraduate work was completed at The Ohio State University, and that rank is higher than their current rank in their graduate or professional program. If you have questions regarding your class rank, please contact your academic advisor.
  • Students will receive an additional entry into their rank’s package assignment process for each consecutive year they purchased either a Full Season or Big Ten package beginning with the 2021 season, thus increasing their chances of receiving their requested package.
  • Distribution of ticket packages will still be divided based upon demand by class rank. But within each class rank, a student’s bonus points will give them an increased chance of being assigned their requested ticket package.
  • Bonus points do not apply toward seating assignments.
  • Bonus points will accumulate for each consecutive year a student purchases a student football ticket package, and will carry over into any full priced season ticket package they may intend to purchase after graduation.

    • Full Season – $438 (includes a non-refundable $12 processing fee)
    • Big Ten Package – $352 (includes a non-refundable $8 processing fee)
  • Once the ticket request windows close, students who did not enter their ticket request during the initial request period may join a waitlist via their Ohio State Student ticket account
  • Waitlist requests will be fulfilled only if inventory remains after ticket requests are fulfilled for students who requested during their original request windows
  • Student seats for non-conference games will be located in the south end zone, Block “O” North in the north end zone, and the Graduate/Professional Alternate Seating section in the north end.
  • Student seats for the Big Ten conference games will be located in the north and south end zones, and the Graduate/Professional Alternate Seating section in the north end.
  • Class ranks used for seat assignments are the OSU class ranks as of the end of Spring Semester 2023 and are defined as previously mentioned above. If you believe there is a discrepancy in your class rank, your academic advisor must submit an online form by June 30, 2023 to the OSU Athletics Ticket Office for review.
  • As a reminder, seating for students electing to be grouped with other students is assigned based on the member of the group with the lowest class rank.
  • Students who order the full season package may request to be grouped with students who order the Big Ten Conference package.
  • Students who order the full season package will be assigned one seat location for the non-conference games and a different seat location for the conference games.
  • Seats will be filled starting with the lowest available deck, at the best yard line location, until that deck is filled, then proceeding to the next available deck, at the best yard line location, until that deck is filled, and so on.
  • This process will not be available until July, after all ticket requests and distribution has been completed, and will only apply to those who receive either a reserved or Graduate/Professional student alternate seating ticket package.
  • Students who receive a one of these packages and intend to be seated with other students should follow the instructions below to complete the group seating process. The group seating window will be open in early July 2023 and will be available only for home games.
  • Students who receive a Block “O” ticket package will not be able to facilitate group seating for their tickets as Block “O” is a general admission first-come, first-served seating area. Students who intend to sit in a group in Block “O” must all purchase Block “O” tickets and arrive at the game at the same time to sit together.
  • Student reserved seat locations are assigned based on the student with the lowest class rank in the group, as outlined above under the Student Ranks
  • Changes to groups may only be made while the group seating window is open. Group changes will not be possible after the group seating window is closed. No exceptions.
  • All student football tickets will be accessed via mobile entry only. Details are located on the Student Mobile Ticket Hints page on how to manage your mobile season tickets on your account.
  • Mobile tickets may be transferred to friends/family. Screenshots of mobile tickets will NOT be valid for entry into Ohio Stadium.
  • Students who are eligible to request a ticket package but are deemed ineligible to receive student tickets in fall based upon the guidelines listed above will have their access to mobile tickets denied and will receive a refund for their ticket price.
  • Please note: You may lose your ticket privileges if (a) you have engaged in conduct that is determined, by either OSU or the NCAA, to be in violation of any NCAA rule or if, in OSU’s reasonable discretion, you have otherwise taken any action that jeopardizes the eligibility of OSU’s programs or its student-athletes; or (b) you have transferred your ticket(s) in such a way that has proven to be detrimental to the ticket recipient(s) and/or Ohio State.

  • Students who are not enrolled full-time for autumn semester at Ohio State (as defined by University guidelines) may request a refund. Please note that all service charges and/or processing fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
