Darrell Hazell, Assistant Head Coach and Wide Receivers coach

On the offense
“Troy is doing a great job with the receivers and stepping up as a leader. The receivers have done a good job as well as all the backs.”

On the competition for third receiver spot
“It is going well. Right now that spot is being held by Roy Hall. The other guys Brian Hartline and Albert Dukes have also done a good job and are fighting for that spot.”

On the competition to be the go-to guy
“They are all really getting after it. Teddy Ginn is up there but so are Anthony Gonzalez and Roy Hall. I’m really looking to see who plays well in traffic and are aggressive to the football.”

On Teddy Ginn
“Teddy is really coming along. He has really started to look like a receiver. He is being more patient at the line and is coming out of his breaks and cuts much better and faster.”

Roy Hall, senior wide receiver
On practice
“It is going really well. The offense is really progressing well and is starting to be one of the amazing strengths of this team.”

On his final season
“Well every senior will tell that they want there last season to be there best and the greatest year ever. It is my chance to show that I am a true playmaker and I came here for a reason.”

Ted Ginn, junior receiver
On how this spring compares to last season
“It feels the same. We have to go out, play fast and play to play. I need to play like I want the ball on the field to be a part of this offense. I feel more comfortable with my routes now. I played hard last year, and it’s going to be the same this year.”

On Troy Smith
“Troy (Smith) is a great player with a strong arm. He is still a leader on the team and we expect good things from him this year.”

Anthony Gonzalez, senior receiver
On the offense’s mentality concerning scoring
“I don’t pay close attention to scores. We try to be the best we can be on every play, and if we do that, the points will come.”
