COLUMBUS, Ohio – Five future Buckeyes made it official this week, signing National Letters of Intern to join the Ohio State men’s volleyball program guided by first-year head coach Kevin Burch. Jacob Pasteur (Westminster, Md.), Noah Platfoot (Hilliard, Ohio), Tommy Poole (Dublin, Ohio), Sotiris Siapanis (Limassol, Cyprus) and Nate Wilson (Mount Wolf, Pa.) will arrive on campus prior to the start of the 2020-21 academic year.

“We are eager to add five Buckeyes that fit the program as well off the court as they do on the court,” Burch said. “All five represent what makes The Ohio State University, our athletics department and men’s volleyball program special. Our staff and student-athletes are excited to work with them in our efforts to achieve our collective goals. You win with people and we look forward to the addition of five great people to the Buckeye family.”

Jacob Pasteur | 6-4 | Outside Hitter
Westminster, Md. | Home School | Yorktowne Volleyball Ball Club

Named to the All-Tournament Team at the 2019 USA High Performance Championships (International Division)

🗣️ From Coach Burch
“Jacob is an elite athlete, elite student and an elite young man. His talent and intangibles make for an exciting addition to the program. Not to mention, he’s as fun to watch as any we’ve been fortunate to work with.”

Noah Platfoot | 6-2 | Setter
Hilliard, Ohio | Hilliard Darby High School | Vanguard Volleyball Club

2019 Ohio High School Boys Volleyball Division I All-State First Team

🗣️ From Coach Burch
“Noah has an elite level skill set, but what makes him special are his intangibles. He is a natural, well-spoken leader who knows how to raise the level of those around him. We are confident Noah will continue that positive impact.”

Tommy Poole | 5-9 | Libero
Dublin, Ohio | Dublin Jerome High School | Vanguard Volleyball Club

2019 Ohio High School Boys Volleyball Division I All-State Honorable Mention

🗣️ From Coach Burch
“Consistency at the libero position is as important as any other aspect of the job. As we evaluated Tommy, we couldn’t help but notice his consistent execution, attitude and effort. Tommy’s control can be seen in everything he does on the court and we look forward to the impact he has on everyone around him.”

Sotiris Siapanis | 6-3 | Outside Hitter
Limassol, Cyprus | Nicosia Grammar School | Nea Salamina Volleyball

Competed for the Cyprus Senior National Team in the 2019 European Small States Games and was the leading scorer for the entire tournament

🗣️ From Coach Burch
“We are excited to keep the European-Buckeye connection alive, especially with a young man like Sotiris. In a repetition sport, experience is key and Sotiris has no shortage of that, playing the game since he was able to walk. We look forward to working alongside Sotiris and are thrilled he’ll be wearing scarlet and gray next fall.”

nate wilson
Nate Wilson | 6-2 | Outside Hitter/Libero

Mount Wolf, Pa. | Northeastern High School | Yorktowne Volleyball Club

First Team All-Pennsylvania performer after leading Northeaster High School to a pair of state championships

🗣️ From Coach Burch
“Nate has done nothing but win in his volleyball career, seizing two state, four county and three district titles. Student-athletes with Nate’s work ethic, leadership and talent are hard to find. He has earned everything he’s won and we look forward to seeing what more he’ll accomplish wearing the scarlet and gray.”
