COLUMBUS, Ohio – Five Ohio State women’s basketball games will be televised this season, the Big Ten conference announced Wednesday. In August, the league publicized the Big Ten/Big East Challenge game vs. Rutgers at 3 p.m. Jan. 16 would be aired on ESPN2. Four additional Buckeye women’s basketball games will be televised on FSN Chicago this season. The Buckeye contests chosen for FSN Chicago include the games at Penn State Dec. 30, vs. Michigan State Jan. 6, vs. Minnesota Feb. 17 and at Purdue Feb. 24. All contests will tip off at 8 p.m. EST.

Additionally, ESPN2 will either air the Ohio State at Michigan State game Feb. 20 or choose a different wildcard contest. There is another wildcard game Feb. 27 FSN Chicago will designate at a later date. Ohio State is slated to play Penn State at home Feb. 27.

The 2005 Big Ten Tournament opening, quarterfinal and semifinal games will be broadcast on FSN Chicago. The championship game will air on ESPN2.

Time and dates are subject to change for all Ohio State women’s basketball games.

The Buckeyes return four starters for the 2004-05 season, including second team All-Big Ten selection Caity Matter and the media’s selection for the 2004 Big Ten Freshman of the Year Jessica Davenport. Ohio State, which is under third-year head coach Jim Foster, was 21-10 last season, finished third in the Big Ten and made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament. In preseason rankings, the Buckeyes were No. 8 according to Athlon and No. 13 in Lindy’s.
