Five Named Big Ten Distinguished Scholars

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Five members of the Ohio State synchronized swimming team were named Big Ten Distinguished Scholars on Wednesday.

Sarah Walsh (environment, economy, development & sustainability) and Kaitlyn Carboun (international studies) earned the award for the second straight season while Erin Fanning (composition), Haley Watson (psychology) and Paula Luis (accounting) are making their first appearance on the list.

To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must be in at least their second year on campus and earn a 3.7 or better grade point average during the 2019-20 academic year.

All five Buckeyes received Academic All-Big Ten recognition in June.
