Five Incoming Buckeyes Compete at 2022 National Championships


COLUMBUS, Ohio – Five incoming Buckeyes competed at the 2022 Men’s Development Program National Championships this past weekend. Kristian Grahovski, Parker Thackston, Max Olinger, Justin Ciccone and Jesse-Lee Pakele all participated in the competition, which consisted of two rounds.

Grahovski finished third in the all-around in the Level 10, session 9S8 for 18-year-olds. His combined all-around score from the two rounds was 155.200 with his better score totaling 79.050 – the third-highest score of the competition. Grahovski was tied for third on the pommel horse with a combined score 25.900 as he earned the highest pommel horse score of the competition at 13.900. He also tied for the fourth-highest combined score on rings (26.400) and tied for the highest individual score with his 13.600 in the first round. Grahovski finished eighth on high bar and ninth on the vault.

Thackston posted the second-best combined pommel horse score in the Level 10, session 9S9 for 19-year-olds, with a 26.750. His 14.300 in the second round was also the second highest of the competition.

Ciccone and Olinger both competed in the Level 10, session 8S for 18-year-olds. Ciccone tied for fourth on floor with a combined score of 27.350. His 13.850 in the first round tied for sixth overall. Ciccone’s highest scoring event was vault as he used a 14.300 to combine for 27.800 and finish 12th. Olinger’s strongest event was also floor as he combined for a score of 26.750 and tied for 11th overall.

Pakele finished in the top-eight in three events in the Level 10, session 3S for 18-year-olds, based on one round of every event. He finished sixth on rings with a 12.800, seventh on high bar with a 12.450 and tied for seventh on parallel bars with a 12.650.
