Assistant head coach and wide receivers coach Darrell Hazell along with players Taurian Washington, Ray Small and Dane Sanzenbacher talked with and area reporters after Friday’s practice at the Woody Hayes Athletic Facility.

Wide receivers listed atop the spring depth chart include senior Small, juniors Sanzenbacher and Washington and sophomores DeVier Posey and Lamaar Thomas. The Buckeyes lost their top two receivers in Brian Hartline and Brian Robiskie to the NFL Draft. But as one player indicated Thursday, he’s champing at the bit for the young receivers on the roster to step up and showcase their talents.

“We’ve got some bad boys,” quarterback Terrelle Pryor said Thursday. “We have some players that can catch a 3 or 4-yard pass and take it to the house. Ray, Dane, Lamaar (Thomas), T-Wash, DeVier (Posey) … and I’m sure I’ve left some guys out. We’ve got some players here and I think a lot of people will be shocked.”

Small is Ohio State’s most experienced receiver with 46 catches, 484 yards and three touchdowns to his credit. He had his best year in 2007 when he caught 20 passes for 267 yards and two scores. Last year he returned a punt 80 yards for a touchdown against Ohio University. Sanzenbacher had his best year in 2008, hauling in 21 passes for 272 yards, including a 53-yard pass against Penn State.
