COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s track and field team wrapped a busy two-meet weekend Saturday as the squad battled talented competition at both the Meyo Invitational in Notre Dame, Ind., and the Akron Invitational in the Akron, Ohio.

Highlights included a personal-best mile time for senior Chris Fallon, a personal-best heptathlon score for Cory Kunze, and a top-15 Division I performance from the 4x400m relay team.

Here’s a complete recap of the Buckeyes’ weekend:

60m Hurdles – Meyo
Junior Demoye Bogle placed fifth overall in 8.09 seconds after running a 7.92 in the semifinals. Indiana State’s Greggmar Swift crossed the finish line in 7.79 for first place.

200m – Meyo
Ohio State placed two athletes in the Top 3. Sophomore Timothy Faust was the winner of the race in a time of 21.37, while sophomore Nick Batcha captured third in 21.66. Runner-up honors went to Calvin Edwards of Eastern Illinois (21.66).

400m – Meyo
Freshman Champ Page took eighth in 48.00. Notre Dame’s Patrick Feeney was first in 46.13.

Meyo Mile
A personal-best time of 4:02.01 – the fourth-best run in school indoor history – helped senior Chris Fallon to a fifth-place finish in the marquee event of the weekend at Notre Dame, the Meyo Mile. Notre Dame’s Austin Mudd took the title in 3:59.33.

High Jump – Meyo
Junior Ryan Fleck cleared the bar at 2.02m (6-7.50) for a ninth-place finish. Darius King was the winner at 2.12m (6-11.50).

Long Jump – Meyo
Senior Derek Blevins posted a mark of 6.97m (22-10.50) to place ninth. Mikese Moore used a 7.69m (25-2.75) leap to take first place.

Shot Put – Gold Division, Akron
Third place went to sophomore J.C. Murasky at 17.89m (58-8.50). Georgia’s Caleb Whitener used a toss of 18.52m (60-9.25) to claim victory.

Weight Throw – Gold Division, Akron
Ohio State placed two in the Top 7: freshman Joseph Velez (fifth, 18.60m/61-0.25) and senior Billy Gehring (seventh, 17.85m/58-6.75). Ashland’s Garrett Grey captured the win at 19.68m (64-7.00).

4x400m – Meyo
Ohio State ‘A’ – Page, seniors Marcus Brooks and Marvel Brooks, and sophomore Antonio Blanks – finished third overall in 3:10.64, the 15th-fastest time in the nation this season. Notre Dame won the race with a time of 3:09.93.

Heptathlon – Akron
Runner-up honors went to Cory Kunze, who finished with a personal-best score of 5443 and a wins in the long jump. The junior’s score currently ranks him 14th in the event this season in Division I. Kent State’s Dexter Shreve totaled 5525 points for first place.
