COLUMBUS, Ohio – Devyn Etling, who completed his eligibility with the Buckeyes last fall, will remain with the Ohio State men’s soccer program as a volunteer assistant coach, Brian Maisonneuve, head coach of the Buckeyes, announced Thursday.

“I am so excited to have Devyn Etling on staff with us,” Maisonneuve said. “I’ve always loved working with Dev as a student athlete and to be able to keep him around on staff means a lot to this program.  Dev’s love for the Buckeyes showed with his incredible work rate and attitude and it gets to continue with us on staff. I know he is excited to help this team and program continue to grow and achieve new heights in the fall.”

Etling, a native of Ashland, Ohio, started 46 times in 64 matches for the Buckeyes from 2018-22. He scored 17 times with a pair of assists for a total of 36 points. Five of his scores were game-winners.

In his final season in 2022, Ohio State finished with an overall record of 11-3-6. The Buckeyes advanced to the second round of the 2022 NCAA Championships with a 3-0 win at Wake Forest before falling on penalty kicks after a 1-1 double overtime draw at UNC Greensboro.
