COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women’s ice hockey forward Emma Maltais was selected by Hockey Canada to be part of the 23-player roster that will compete against the United States in a three-game series in Lake Placid, N.Y. Aug. 14-17.

“Camp thus far has been such a great experience,” said Maltais. “I am truly honored to be selected to the team and to have the opportunity to represent my country in Lake Placid. There is nothing more special than putting on the maple leaf. I can’t wait for this week full of learning opportunities and to compete alongside some of the best.”

As part of the Team Canada Summer Showcase, 88 players arrived in Calgary to attend the BFL National Women’s Development Team Selection Camp and BFL National Women’s Under-18 Team Selection Camp, which involved on and off-ice training, classroom sessions and fitness testing.

Along with intrasquad games, the development team camp included match-ups against national teams from France and Japan, and a team of U SPORTS all-stars. During competition, Maltais tallied an assist in Canada’s 6-1 victory over France.
