COLUMBUS, Ohio – Former Buckeye Emma Jandel earned 2014 LPGA Tour status in Priority Category 17 after coming in tied for 32nd at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament, Dec. 4-8. The event was held on the Jones and Hills courses at LPGA International in Daytona, Fla.

The top-20 qualifiers Sunday earned Category 12 status on the 2014 Tour while players finishing 21-45 and ties earned membership in Category 17. After four rounds, the 153-player field was cut to the top 70 and ties for Sunday’s final round.

Jandel opened the tournament with a 73 and 75 and followed with a 69 and 70 to reach the final round with a 1-under 287. The Dayton, Ohio, native finished her Sunday with a 1-under 71 to conclude the five-round tournament with a 2-under 358.

“I had been playing well leading up to the tournament, but after my first two rounds I knew I had to turn it around,” Jandel said. “My brother told me that I had nothing to lose and to go out and get it. I focused on what I could control and came out aggressively. I’m so proud and am very excited for my opportunities coming in 2014!”

The 2010 graduate became the 14th Buckeye to earn a spot on the LPGA Tour behind Rosie Jones, Meg Mallon, Cathy Kratzert-Gerring, Lisa Strom, Allison Hanna, Mollie Fankhauser, Amy (Langhals) Miller, Suzy Green-Roebuck, Judy Ellis Sams, Renee Powell, Cheryl Stacy, Karen Mundinger and In Hong Lim.

Lim (’11) also competed in Stage III, but missed the fourth-round cut after finishing with a 304 Saturday.
