COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State head coach Jay Moseley announced on Thursday the addition of graduate transfer Elis Svard to the roster for the 2020-21 season. Svard will be in his final season of eligibility.
Svard had a record-breaking career at Cal State Monterey Bay. The Sweden native earned PING All-America honors each of the last three seasons, including first team honors this past year. He finished ninth in the final Golfstat individual rankings for 2019-20.
This past season, Svard broke the school record with a 71.18 scoring average and lowered his career scoring average to 71.98. He had 62 rounds under par, which smashed the previous school record of 48. Svard won the Dennis Rose Invitational in October, carding rounds of 71-66-70 (-9) for his fourth collegiate victory. He had 20 career top-5 finishes and 30 top-10 finishes.
Moseley and the Buckeyes also recently announced the return of Felix Kvarnstrom, its top player from this past season, as he will utilize the NCAA waiver for spring sport athletes. That is in addition to an incoming freshman class of fellow Sweden native Adam Wallin and Ohioan Maxwell Moldovan, the reigning AJGA Player of the Year.
