Buckeyes Ranked Third by Two Preseason Publications
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The buzz created from last season’s run to the NCAA Sweet 16 has carried over into the 2009-10 campaign. Two preseason publications, Athlon and Lindy’s, have the Buckeyes at No. 3 in their respective preseason Top 25 rankings behind UConn and Stanford. – MORE –

Lavender, Prahalis on Preseason Wooden Award Watch List
Los Angeles (August 20, 2009) – Richard “Duke” Llewellyn, John R. Wooden Award Chairman and founder, announced the 2009-10 preseason candidates for the Women’s Wooden Award today. The list is comprised of 31 student athletes who, based on last year’s individual performance and team records, are the frontrunners for college basketball’s most prestigious honor. This year’s list includes Ohio State’s dynamic duo of junior Jantel Lavender and sophomore Samantha Prahalis. Prahalis was the only sophomore chosen; the rest of the nominees are juniors or seniors. – MORE –
Ohio State, Nationwide Arena Selected to Host NCAA Tournament Games in 2012
COLUMBUS, Ohio-The NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee notified Ohio State Monday it will host the first and second rounds of the 2012 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament at Nationwide Arena in downtown Columbus. Ohio State will serve as the host institution. The Buckeyes are not eligible to play in Columbus should they qualify for the NCAA tournament that year. – MORE –
