COLUMBUS, Ohio Ryan Dzingel and Max McCormick, both junior forwards on the Ohio State men’s hockey team, both were named to the Big Ten Preseason Players to Watch List, the Big Ten Conference announced Thursday at the inaugural Big Ten Hockey Media Day in Saint Paul, Minn. The 13-player team was selected by the six league head coaches.

Dzingel, from Wheaton, Ill., led the Buckeyes in scoring last year with 38 points, including a team-high 16 goals. He was an honorable mention All-CCHA choice after posting 28 points, with 18 assists, during the 28-game conference slate. Dzingel has played in 73 games for the Scarlet and Gray and has 23 goals, 39 assists and 62 points in his career.

De Pere, Wis., native McCormick had 31 points, on 15 goals and 16 assists, as a sophomore in 2012-13, including 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points in 28 conference games. McCormick has played 67 games as a Buckeye, with a 25-28-53 line.

In the preseason coaches’ poll, Wisconsin was the favorite for the inaugural season of Big Ten hockey, followed by Minnesota in second, Michigan in third, Ohio State and Michigan State tied for fourth and Penn State in sixth.
