COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women’s volleyball players Adria Powell and Mac Podraza have been invited to Colorado Springs, Colo. to try out for USA Volleyball’s Collegiate National Team. The tryouts will take place at the U.S. Olympic Training Center March 1-3.
Powell (outside hitter) and Podraza (setter) are among 218 athletes from 87 colleges across the country vying for a chance to don the Stars and Stripes. The event will feature 56 outside hitters, 46 liberos, 44 setters, 42 middles and 30 opposites.
“I’m excited for Adria and Mac to go on this adventure together,” said head coach Geoff Carlston. “Adria has grown so much and embodies the hard work, focus and heart this program expects each and every day. In just a few months, Mac has built a trust, friendship and respect from her teammates that all elite setters must possess. Both will represent the Buckeye Nation well in Colorado Springs.”
All sessions minus the USA training session on Sunday morning will be streamed live by clicking here. USA Volleyball will use #USAVtryout as the event hashtag for photos, notes, quotes and stories posted to its social media platforms Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter and Instagram under the handle @usavolleyball.
