The two bounced back and defeated China’s Guo Hanyu and Aiqi, 6-3, 6-4. The tandem then took down the Germany team of Intert and Lena Ruppert, 6-3, 6-2.

France finished in fifth place, with Team USA taking first.

Each year (starting in 2006) the French University Sports Federation invites 20 university national teams to participate in Master’U BNP Paribas. The countries in this year’s tournament included France, Germany, Belgium, United States, China, Great Britain, Ireland and Italy.

Each team was comprised of three men and three women currently enrolled in a university. Each match included two women’s and two men’s singles matches, a men’s and women’s doubles match and a mixed doubles match (if necessary to break a tie).
