COLUMBUS, Ohio – Former Ohio State head coach John Cooper highlights Tulsa’s Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2011.

Cooper coached the Golden Hurricane from 1977-84, posting a 57-31 overall record, 31-6 in league play. His teams won the Missouri Valley Conference championship each of his last five seasons. Cooper also was the director of athletics in his time at Tulsa.

After moving on and leading Arizona State to a PAC-10 title, Cooper came to Columbus and coached the Buckeyes to three Big Ten championships in his 13 years. He posted a 111-43-4 overall record at Ohio State highlighted by a Rose Bowl win over No. 4 Arizona State and a Sugar Bowl victory against No. 8 Texas A&M.

Cooper was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008.
