Day 1 | Collegiate Pistol National Championships
Fort Benning, Ga.- The Buckeyes began their battle today in Fort Benning at the 2019 Collegiate Pistol National Championships. The Buckeyes competed in both Free Pistol and Sport Pistol and continue the competition tomorrow with Standard Pistol Relay followed by the Rapid Fire Exhibition Match.
The Free Pistol Team of Samuel Gens, Shrenik Jain, Con Marrinan, and Anthony McCollum took 2nd Place behind the U.S. Coast Guard Academy with a score of 2,041. Individually, eight Buckeyes shot for the Free Pistol Individual National Championship; Samuel Gens (533, 1st Place), Zachary Dahmen (516, 5th Place), Anthony McCollum (510, 6th Place), Shrenik Jain (501, 11th Place), Con Marrinan (497, 12th Place), Bernard Melus (482, 19th Place), Robbie Delagrange (471, 25th Place), and Cade Haiby (454, 27th Place). Samuel Gens, Zachary Dahmen, and Anthony McCollum shot Free Pistol Finals with scores of 85.2, 86.0, and 90.2, respectively while Anthony McCollum’s Finals score of 90.2 was highest among all finalists.
The Sport Pistol Team of Emily Rust, Emily Nothnagle, and Irene Li took 3rd Place behind the Mass. Institute of Technology and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy with a score of 1,565. Individually, 3 Buckeyes shot for the Sport Pistol Individual National Championship; Emily Rust (545, 4th Place), Emily Nothnagle (515, 13th Place), and Irene Li (505, 16th Place). Emily Rust shot Sport Pistol Finals with a score of 186, the highest score among all finalists.
At 9:00 am EST tomorrow morning, eight Buckeyes will compete for the Standard Pistol National Championship; Zachary Dahmen, Robbie Delagrange, Samuel Gens, Cade Haiby, Shrenik Jain, Bernard Melus, Anthony McCollum, and Emily Rust.
