Mike Netti is in his fifth season at Ohio State as special assistant to head coach Chris Holtmann in 2021-22. Netti had been an assistant coach at East Carolina for four seasons (2014-17) and previously spent three years as an assistant on Holtmann’s staff at Gardner-Webb.

In Netti’s four seasons at East Carolina, the Pirates won 58 games as Netti saw a pair of student-athletes garner American Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team honors. During his first season in Greenville in 2013-14, Netti also helped guide Akeem Richmond to an NCAA-best 155 3-pointers made. As an assistant under Holtmann at Gardner-Webb, Netti helped the Runnin’ Bulldogs to a school Division I record 21 victories in 2012-13. In addition, Netti helped guide guard Tashan Newsome to second team All-Big South Conference honors.

Prior to joining Holtmann for the second time at Gardner-Webb, where he also was an assistant from 2002-06, Netti spent two seasons at Lackawanna (Pa.) College, leading the school to 43 wins in his two seasons as two Falcons earned NJCAA Division II All-America honors, and spent two seasons as an assistant coach at St. Francis (N.Y.).

Netti was a two-year varsity letterman at Division III Alvernia College in Reading, Pa., helping the team to a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Title and a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament. He graduated from Syracuse University in 2002.
