John McCausland is in his second season as program assistant in 2022-23 and his seventh overall with the program. The Avon, Ohio native spent four years as a student manager from 2015-19 and was a graduate assistant in 2020-21.

McCausland graduated from Ohio State in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He then spent the 2019-20 NFL season in Football Operations with the Cleveland Browns assisting in all aspects of day-to-day team operations. He returned to OSU as a graduate assistant for the 2020-21 season and graduated with a masters of science in kinesiology, sport management in the spring 2021.

Prior to joining the Browns organization, the northeast Ohioian served as a batboy for the Cleveland Indians from 2014-19 and worked the 2016 World Series and 2019 MLB All-Star Game.
