Everrett Gathron


position Associate Strength and Conditioning Coach

Everrett Gathron joined the Ohio State strength and conditioning staff in July 2018. He is in his first season as the associate strength and conditioning coach for the track & field and swimming and diving programs.

Prior to Ohio State, Gathron was an assistant strength coach at the University of Virginia for eight years where he was responsible for the design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for the men’s lacrosse, wrestling and softball programs. He also spent time at the University of Texas as the Pan American Director of Strength and Conditioning, designing and implementing all training programs for 13 varsity sports. At Southern Methodist University, he was an assistant strength and conditioning coach working with the football strength and conditioning program.

Gathron earned his bachelor’s degree in health promotion and fitness from Otterbein College in 2006 and his master’s in coaching education from Ohio University in 2008. While at Ohio, he served as a graduate assistant, assisting with the design and implementation of the strength and conditioning program for the football and women’s basketball programs and was in charge of all aspects of the strength and conditioning program for the ice hockey program.

Gathron is a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach.
