position Graduate Assistant – Offense
Chandler Whitmer joined the Ohio State coaching staff as an offensive graduate assistant in 2019. He works with coach Greg Studrawa and the team’s offensive linemen. Whitmer comes to Columbus after serving as a quality control coach at Yale during the 2018 season.
During his one season in New Haven, Yale averaged nearly 30 points per game 500 yards of total offense. Yale finished first in passing offense (316.0 yards/game), second in the Ivy League in total offense (479.9 yards/game) and fourth in scoring offense (29.5 points/game).
Whitmer played at the University of Connecticut, where he made 24 career starts at quarterback from 2012-14. He finished his career fourth in UConn history in completions (403) and passing yards (5,082) and sixth in touchdown passes (25). He started his career at the University of Illinois in 2010 where he redshirted before transferring to Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas.
Following his playing career at UConn, Whitmer attended rookie mini-camp with the Philadelphia Eagles. He grew up in Marietta, Ga., but spent his last couple years of high school in Illinois and graduated from Downers Grove South High School.
