A native of Washington, D.C., Cam Spence joined the Ohio State football staff in early 2022 and will serve this season as a graduate assistant on defense for the Buckeyes.

Spence is no stranger to the Big Ten, having played at the University of Maryland in 2017 and 2018. He medically retired in 2019 and began to independently train players, such as Derrick Brown of the Carolina Panthers and Javon Kinlaw of the San Francisco 49ers.

From 2019-21, Spence served as a student assistant defensive line coach at Maryland, and he was with the University of Miami prior to coming to Ohio State. He earned his degree in 2021 from Maryland in communications.

Spence attended high school at both IMG Academy and St. John’s College. He was a four-star prospect by every major recruiting service and the No. 2 in Washington, D.C. by 247Sports.
