position Director of Pitching Development

Former Buckeye Brad Goldberg is in his second season on the Ohio State coaching staff, serving as the Buckeyes’ director of pitching development, assisting pitching coach Dan DeLucia.

In a shortened 2020 season, helped the Buckeye pitching staff lead the nation with 12.7 strikeouts per nine innings.

“I am very excited to have back in the program helping develop the next championship,” Greg Beals, Ohio State head coach, said. “After his playing days as a Buckeye, Brad went on to play professionally, gaining great experience and knowledge that will greatly complement Coach DeLucia, myself and our entire coaching staff. We look forward to learning and continuing to forge our philosophies together. Goldy brings a great understanding of pitching and the application of technology and data to assist the development of our pitching staff. Brad has a passion for the game, this great University and our baseball program.”

Goldberg, a third team All-Big Ten selection in 2013, went 6-1 with a 2.99 earned-run average in 15 starts for the Buckeyes as a senior before being selected in the 10th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft.

“This University and the baseball program have afforded me great opportunities and introduced me to some of my closest friends,” Goldberg said. “I am motivated to provide Coach DeLucia with digestible and relevant data and analytics but even more to cultivate relationships within the team and University. I am elated to come back to wear the scarlet and gray and I can’t thank Coach Beals enough.”
