Ohio State coaches Tim Walton and players spoke to the media on Thursday to discuss team progress through Spring practices.
On having a new title:
“It’s really the same man. We just all try to work together, you know what I mean?
We just try to have the cohesion and then as a unit tied all together, which guys are doing a good job with that man and, you know, we have position flexibility with all those guys.
So we’re just trying to see how it all fits together.”
On Denzel and Davison getting them out there:
“Those guys have a great experience so far, you know, Denzel is playing well, you know, the whole group is playing pretty good right now, you know, those guys are competing, they’re practicing hard, they’re straining, they’re understanding the game, they’re playing it to the field. So I’m happy with the whole group.”
On Davison Transferring:
“Oh man, glad we got him. You know, he’s a great worker competitor.
He’s long, he can run, understands the game, and is passionate about playing.
So, you know, he’ll be a great addition to us.”
On transferring to Ohio State:
“Deep down in my heart, I knew I was coming to Ohio State from the jump.”
On his game:
“I’m a big corner, I’m a physical corner, I’m going to put my hands on you, I’m going to come up and make tackles, I’m going to get pass breakups, I’m going to get interceptions. I’m also a ball hog as well. I just do a little bit of everything.”
On Spring practices so far:
“This has definitely been the hardest winter workout we’ve had since I’ve been here. Practices have been the hardest they’ve been, coaches are pushing us harder than we’ve ever been pushed. We’re just embracing it, and we’re just excited for the journey.”
On how he hopes to improve this year:
“I’m here because I want to improve on things… I think I’m trying to improve my game all around, trying to be the most consistent safety in the country. That’s really what I want to do.”
