COLUMBUS, Ohio — Coming on the heels of claiming player of the week honors from the Big Ten, Emily Clark added two more honors today: National Player of the Week from and espnW.

Clark’s offensive numbers jumped off the page last week: she hit .875 in four games with 11 RBI, a .917 on-base percentage and 1.750 slugging percentage. In the home opener against Wright State, she went 2-for-3 with a three run home run and two run double. Three days later in a 12-2 victory over Rutgers, she was 2-for-2 with a grand slam and five RBI. Overall, she reached base successfully in 10 consecutive plate appearances to finish the week.

On defense, Clark played both second base and was the team’s catcher. She had a 1.000 fielding percentage with 11 putouts, nine assists and throw out a runner on Sunday attempting to steal second.

With Clark’s help, the Buckeyes flexed their offensive muscle last week. They hit .485 as a team and averaged 11.5 runs/game while outscoring their opponents 46-4. A sophomore from Prospect, Ohio, Clark is fourth on the team with a .333 average and has already driven in 33 runs. Her seven doubles is tied for most on the team and she’s also added five home runs and 17 runs scored.

Winners of 15 of their last 16 games, Ohio State is back in action this weekend when it hosts No. 20 Michigan for a three-game series at Buckeye Field beginning on Friday (6 p.m.). The series will continue with a 2 p.m. game on Saturday and 1 p.m. finale on Sunday.
