COLUMBUS, Ohio A three-win effort last weekend by Ohio State senior diver Chelsea Davis has earned the Worthington Kilbourne graduate her seventh career Big Ten Conference Diver of the Week accolade and her first this season.

Davis led a one-two Ohio State finish – with teammate Bianca Alvarez – on both the one- and three-meter springboard events to lead the 30th ranked Buckeyes to a pair of wins over Toledo and Wright State last week. The team is now 4-0 on the season heading into its next competition, a dual meet Jan. 22 at Michigan State.

Davis claimed top honors on both springboards against Toledo, posting NCAA qualifying marks in each with a 318.6 score in the one-meter competition and a 337.3 mark in the three-meter event. She followed that performance with a 329.03 winning effort on the lower springboard against Wright State before earning runner-up honors in the three-meter competition where she bested her previous mark from the day before by a full 38 points (375.45).

Four of Davis’s Diver of the Week honors have come as a Buckeye – one in 2006-07, two in 2007-08 and this year – and three came when Davis was competing as a freshman at Northwestern in 2005-06.
