COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State coaching staff has named 24 champions after its 56-21 victory at Rutgers on Saturday that improved the Buckeyes to 10-0 overall and 7-0 in the Big Ten. Players of the Game were Justin Fields (offense), Binjimen Victor (offense), Shaun Wade (defense) and Dallas Gant (special teams).

For the 10th time in 10 games, DT DaVon Hamilton was a champion. He had a sack and also helped the Buckeyes’ defense hold an opponent to under 300 yards for the 10th consecutive game. Nine-time champions include Chris Olave, who had a career-high 139 yards receiving, and LG Jonah Jackson.

Ohio State became just the second team in the last 100 years to win its first 10 games by 24 or more points.

Fields, a champion for the eighth time this season, played just one half and one series of the third quarter but still managed to throw for a career-high 305 yards and tossed four touchdown passes. He now has 31 touchdowns and just one interception on the season.

Victor caught a team-high five passes, two of which went for touchdowns. The senior from Pompano Beach, Fla. has 18 career touchdown receptions, good for No. 9 on Ohio State’s all-time list.

Wade caused two first-quarter turnovers at Rutgers, intercepting a pass on the second play of the game and then forcing a fumble on the fourth play. Both turnovers led to touchdowns as the Buckeyes opened up a 21-0 lead.

On special teams, Gant had a tackle while covering a kickoff and contributed to a kick return unit that gave up just 15.2 yards per return, nearly three yards below opponents’ season average.
