Coaches! Join ASCA at the ASCA OHIO STATE SWIMPOSIUM at Ohio State University October 7-9, 2022 in collaboration with Ohio High School Swim Coaches Association (OHSSCA) and USA Swimming LSCs

Featured speakers include:

Russell Mark – For over 19 years, Russell Mark worked for USA Swimming studying countless hours of video and race data, and planning performance with the best coaches and swimmers in the world. He now serves as ASCA’s Performance and Education Advisor.  Through a blend of data-driven feedback, technology integration, and coaching, he has contributed to the success of the last five US Olympic Swim Teams.

Coach Bill Dorenkott – In his 14th year at Ohio State and his fourth year as the director of men’s and women’s swimming and diving, Coach Dorenkott’s programs are among the best, if not the best, in the Big Ten Conference. This year the women took the title and the men finished second.  He was a coach for TEAM USA at the 2022 FINA World Championships in Budapest, where his athletes won multiple medals.

Coach Ken Heis – Mason Manta Rays Head Coach Ken Heis has been coaching for over 20 years and has coached 30 Olympic Trials Qualifiers, 50+ Ohio High School State Champions, Sectional Champions, four National Junior Team members, and Top 10 in the nation swimmers. He is the club coach for Carson Foster who earned gold and silver medals at the most recent FINA World Championships.

Coach Lisa Ebeling – Coach Lisa Ebeling has been the head coach of the women’s swimming and diving program since August of 2016. Ebeling and her team made history in the 2021-22 season, with broken records, wins, and swimmer accolades. They earned three straight WAC dual victories and took down Wyoming for only the second time in program history. They ended the season with an overall record of 9-1 and earned third place at the WAC Championships with the most points in program history, 530.5. At the Championships, the Bears totaled four gold medals, three silver, six bronze, and seven school records.

9:30-10:15 a.m. – Debrief on practice and drills demonstrations with Coach Dorenkott
10:30-11:15 a.m. – Russell Mark Pool Session
11:30 a.m. – 12:15 pm. – Mason Manta Rays- Utilizing Power Towers with Coach Ken Heis
12:15-1:30 – LUNCH – On your own
1:30 – 2:30 – Butterfly and Backstroke Technique with Russell Mark
2:45 – 3:45 – Mason Manta Rays – Parks & Rec program to Top 10 USA Club to New 50m Pool with Coach Ken Heis
4:00 – 5:00 – Collaborative Coaching: How to engage athletes by involving them in the process with Coach Lisa Ebeling

The clinic will take place at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion located at 1847 Neil Avenue Columbus, OH 43210. The exact check-in location will be determined as the clinic gets closer.
